National Award from Irish Rural Link
A presentation was made to Upperchurch Drombane Community Council in recognition of the numerous schemes and projects undertaken. Picture shows a presentation of a Cavan Crystal vase being made to Kay Harrington and Ann Quinlan (representing the committee) by Ceann Comhairle, Rory O’Hanlon, at a function held in the Cavan Crystal Hotel. The citation praised the development association for their outstanding contribution to rural community development.

Upperchurch should have an achievement recognition for its great personality as a community. What a wonderful place with lovely people. When I bought my house there at Seskin this January 2012; I received the nicest welcomes from my neighbours and feel more at home than i could ever have wished for.
I hope to be as worthy a citizen of the village as those i have met.
Many thanks for the warm welcome to Upperchurch which I have received from so many there.
